Wydale milk feeders have been designed with efficiency in mind and allow individual feeding of Calves, although they can feed a group of calves at the same time.

The feeder simply hangs on the Calf pen gate (so that the teats are level with the calves' backs) and pour in the ready-mixed milk. Each feeder is moulded with a cowling to guide the calf to the teat and ensures that each calf can feed individually, this ensures that slow drinkers can get enough milk. Controlled feeding also reduces milk wastage.

Each compartment in the trough holds 2 litres to the ridge at the back of the compartment or 3 litres to the top of the weir. You only need to fill as many compartments as you have per calf per pen. As the feeder is compartmentised you can feed medicated milk to a sick calf whilst the other calves in the pen can feed on plain milk.

If you need to feed Colostrum before the calves can stand you can simply place the feeder on the floor of the pen and push the teat into the calf's mouth.

Tanks may also contain swarf from the manufacturing process so we recommend checking and if necessary swilling them out with water before installation.
