Cesspools are used for the underground storage of both liquids and waste. Popular applications include sewage and water storage for fire fighting or rainwater harvesting. Cesspools have an inlet but do not have an outlet. Therefore all water or waste stored in the tank has to be either sucked out using a tanker or pumped out using a separate pump.
